INTERIOR DESIGN project manager for los angeles studio

  • Carter Design is seeking an Interior Design Project Manager with extensive experience in residential projects. This role will support the Principal Designers on multiple residential projects in the L.A. area. They are creative, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced design environment.

    They will contribute to Carter Design with design references, technical resources, and leadership. The ideal candidate collaborates well with clients, designers, contractors, fabricators, and artisans.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3-5 years of professional experience in Project Management in the field of Interior Design

    • A portfolio demonstrating excellence in design & implementation on several completed projects

    • US Resident

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, V-Ray, Adobe Creative Suite

    • Strong graphic presentation skills

    • Knowledge of the full design process including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation & Administration & Installation

    • Knowledge of residential codes and standards

    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the immediate design team and studio

    • Extreme organization and love of design

    • Attention to detail

    DUTIES

    • Create and maintain project lists

    • Create and maintain project budgets

    • Create and maintain project binders with up-to-date floorplans, millwork drawings, budget, punch-list, and client correspondence to be brought to each site meeting

    • Ensure all necessary project samples are on-site for site meetings

    • Create and maintain project calendars distributed to the team and applicable vendors

    • Update the project calendar weekly to reflect any changes or delays

    • Schedule weekly review with principal designers, drafters, and design assistants to review Project Punchlist/Calendar/Budget

    • Delegate tasks with deadlines on punch lists to team members

    • Maintain and organize Project Folders digitally

    • Oversee that site photo surveys have been completed and organized for each site visit

    • Oversee Pinterest page is organized per project

    • Coordinate with accounting once estimates are approved for the creation of invoice

    • Process approved orders with Purchasing Agent and coordinate that all receipts are filed appropriately

    • Update the budget weekly with any new project purchases

    • Follow up on orders once an order is placed

    • Record meeting notes and distribute them to the project team

    • Create and update project finish and furnishing schedules that include: furniture, upholstery, window coverings, painting, lighting, electrical, plumbing, as well as the floor, wall, and surface finishes

    • Provide weekly status updates to design principal and client

  • Carter Design is seeking a freelance interior design assistant designer to help with social media and online sales of furnishings in their studio in St.James New York.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Intertest and experience in interior design

    Savy with social media

    Attention to detail

    Knowledge of furniture and

    Organizational skills

    Computer Skills :

    Proficient in Google Drive

    Photoshop a plus

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assist the design team with samples ordering, social media, and shipping of furnishings from the online store.
